Allergist

Lily has been breaking out in hives off and on for her whole, sweet life. They have ranged from minor and unassuming to severe and requiring hospital visits. We know she is allergic to amoxicillin and several ingredients in the MMR vaccine.

Our pediatrician has decided it's time for Lily to have allergy testing done to determine what could be causing her off/on break outs. For those who don't know, this visit to a pediatric allergist will entail a complete physical and a physical history of Lily, Tim and myself. Also, Lily will be given pricks of various stimulants and her skin reaction to them will be observed to try and identify her irritants. We were told to expect between 40 and 70 pricks during our three hour appointment tomorrow morning.

We are so blessed that this is the extent of the health concerns we've had with our children, but as any parent knows, seeing your child go through pain (70 shots!!) is a challenge. We ask for wisdom for Lily's doctors and resolution for our questions regarding her allergies. We also are praying that we will be able to provide the comfort and support Lily needs during what will be an 'icky, yucky' (as Gabe would say) morning.
