Kitchen Appliance

We recently invested in a new kitchen appliance.  I say invested b/c the cost was high (for us) at $375.  We had a yard sale last weekend and my goal was to make enough to cover the price of this appliance.  I didn't quite swing that, but I came close enough to go for it.

So off to Costco I went, coming home with a brand-new and shiny Vitamix.

This thing is INSANE!  Even Tim agrees that the things we are making are delicious and the amount of nutritional content we can pack in is awesome.  My kids have eaten massive amounts of spinach, kale, cauliflower, beets, flax seed, carrots, ginger and parsley....  and they've had no clue!  They've also had tons of pineapple, apples, bananas, mangoes, grapes, strawberries and raspberries.  All recipes with no added sugars.  Oh na-tur-al, baby!

I've used the Vitamix at least twice a day since purchasing.  I don't see that decreasing - at least I hope not.  We've done smoothies, ice creams, sorbets, hot soups, hot chocolate, (did I mention it cooks food - as in heats it up?!?) and fresh fruit juice.

Here are some of the recipes we've tried:

Here's a YouTube link to a Vitamix demo at Costco.  Be warned... it may blow your mind:
