Lost Tooth

Gabe lost his first tooth this evening!  He was biting into a chocolate chip he swiped from the kitchen while I was baking banana bread.  Excited does not begin to describe the little man's emotions.

So this brought about the need for a BIG decision in our household...  to tooth fairy or not to tooth fairy.  I probably could have gone either way - and certainly society would say go ahead and be that tooth fairy.  But in the end, we decided we could celebrate this milestone without "her" help.  (Not knocking anyone who does the tooth fairy, this was just the choice that works for our family!!!)

We do not do the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, and now we'll add Tooth Fairy to that list.  We had an incident in kindergarten where Gabe shared to a friend that there is no such thing as Santa Claus.  Even though this little person was from a Christian family, he still did not receive Gabe's sharing very well.  :-/  We feel we've corrected his desire to share that with other kiddos for now.  Hoping that remains consistent with this new discovery of there not being a tooth fairy!

So in lieu of a $1 under his pillow, Gabers will wake up to this note in the morning.  Knowing him as I do, I think he will be just fine with this development!
