This Christmas was filled with the blessings of family, love, God's grace...and the stomach flu. A nasty virus rocked both the children and their mommy (not to mention some grandparents and aunts and uncles). Gabe and Lily were almost better by Christmas morning, and thankfully Tim never got sick. We were able to see a lot of family, while still awaiting Santa's arrival in our home. Gabe was thrilled when he came - and less thrilled that sharing toys not only meant he could use Lily's gifts, but also that she could enjoy his! On several occasions, he preferred giving up his toys (hiding them in a closet) over sharing them with his sister. I am grateful that as I type this, I can say he is doing much better.
Being sick over Christmas is no fun, but the one silver lining was that Tim was home and able to be all hands on deck with the children.
This year, we chose to exchange relational gifts with one another - gifts that cost us nothing, but could enhance our relationship and commitment to one another. By far - the best gifts we've shared with one another in our 10 year relationship.
Wait - could it be?! A picture of me AND Gabe smiling at the same time?!
Christmas Eve ice cream sundaes for breakfast - Lily looks excited now, then she realized she was only going to get oatmeal with fruit.
Gabe's Tonka Bounce Back Racer was a huge success. Way to go, Santa!
Watch out! She's on the move. Our little lady is standing on her own these days, and gets around way too quickly on this walking toy. SO not ready for her to be walking!!!!
