- Be fearless
- Be still
- Be watchful
- Be quiet
In my life, I see how fear can cause me to forget all that God has already done. It allows me to forget that the God who worked on my behalf yesterday is the God who can - and will - work on my behalf today. Scripture tells us that we will face trouble - John 16:33 - but it also tells us that our victory is secure. No fear.
To be still, also a challenge. I can be so consumed with the past and so concerned with the future that I miss what God is doing today... right now! A reminder to be still, to know that God is. I find comfort in Psalm 46:10. I want to use my moments of stillness as opportunities to see Him more.
God is performing miracles on my behalf each and every day. I want to watch for them, I want to see them, and I want to glorify Him through them. He is offering us an abundant life - right now - I want to watch for it.
My greatest challenge is to be quiet. I must guard myself against complaining, guard myself against being complacent regarding all the gifts He's already providing. I must train myself not to speak in arrogance.
In my journey to heed Moses' instructions, I give thanks for my God, who through His word assures me that He is kind and that we are His top priority. Psalm 145:7-8
