The kids' education has been much on my heart these past few months - not just their scholastic education, but their spiritual education. What an awesome responsibility Tim and I have been given to build up these little ones - to fill them up so that they might be salt and light in our world.

We decided - among a variety of other things - to work on scripture memorization with Gabe and Lily. I found this article by John Piper to be a tremendous encouragement.

Every week, Gabe gets a new verse to learn. It is taped under our table and he has to repeat it before each meal. What is especially exciting is that he is now able to read many of the words w/out our prompting.

Lily gets a new verse every 2 weeks. We feed her the words initially, then she is able to share it on her own.

Memorized verses are hung in the dining room for the month.
