One question people keep asking - perhaps because it's just what people ask when a new baby comes, or because they know Gabe is an incredibly-attached Mama's Boy, or because they've seen how hyper-active my son is - is how does Gabe do with Lily.
The truth is he's amazing with her. He loves to be a helper, giving her toys and fetching the things she needs. He's recently taken to helping me feed her. He loves to make her laugh and smile. At dinner - he (unfortunatly, but adorably) always tries to share his food with her. He also loves to make her 'exercise.' He announced last week that she needed to 'move her muscles more.' That's where the 'Up and Down and Move it All Around' came from. He does that to her at least twenty times a day.
He's also a little bit protective of her, which Tim is very grateful for. Lily likes to chew on her dresses (like all babies, anything that can fit in her mouth is good to try) by pulling them up from the hemline. This exposes her diapers (or 'unnerpants' as Gabe says). Whenever big brother sees this, he pulls her dress down and shouts, 'Baby Yilly, keep your dress DOWN!'
Now, hopefully he'll continue to shout that until she is wearing a white dress and walking down an aisle in a church.
I have no doubt that darker sibling days are ahead. I'm sure once Lily's able to get into Gabe's toys we'll be in for trouble. For now, Tim and I are enjoying the peace and (ahem) quiet that Gabe and Lily have in their relationship.
Is it possible that every video is cuter than the last one?
